Companies have as well automated almost all of their operations thus enhancing efficiency because of technology advancement. The world has become a global village, whereby communication and transportation of goods and services is now faster and less costly all facilitated by technology. However, overreliant on technology is a reality and there would be severe consequences if technology would fail today. What is your position regarding the topic?My position is that people are over-reliant on technology. The modern world overdepends on technology in many ways. If technology would break down for a single second, the entire world would be at a standstill. An example is electricity breakdown, which would result to operations in companies, education institutions, as well as, health institutions coming to a hault. If there is not over-reliance on technology such a breakdown would not affect the world because of availability of backup options. Many businesses rely on technology in doing everything from accounting to maintaining workforce data. If computers used in performing these tasks would become malfunctional, the operations would come to a hault and businesses would start counting losses. This would not only affect the businesses, but everyone including consumers since nothing would be done without computers. If there is no over-reliance on technology businesses would shift operations to manual working without any problems arising.What evidence have you offered to support your claim/position? In hospitals, for example, overdependence on technology is a reality. Systems breakdown would cause huge losses if there are no sufficient backup systems put in place. Failure of hospital equipment without effective backup measures would result to loss of lives, as well as other severe losses. During the course of this trail the prosecution must prove beyond any reasonable doubt to the Jury that Ms. Watson committed the crime. The last step in the process is the sentencing. If an offender plead guilty or was found guilty by a Jury, he or she will be sentenced according to the severity of the crime committed. Here is where Ms. Watson will be sentenced for committing the crime of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The mandatory minimum sentences pertaining to federal narcotics locations have been object of many criticisms. In 1991 the United States Sentencing Commission released a document with the mandatory minimum requirements. If we invest time and reform the educational programs offered in the prison system, we could improve rehabilitation outcomes and as a consequence the number of recidivism cases will drop drastically. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, in 2003 there were 75,573 cases disposed of in federal district court by trial or plea. Of these, about 95 percent were disposed by plea bargaining. While there are no exact estimates of the proportion of cases that are resolved through plea bargaining, scholars estimate that about 90 to 95 percent of both federal and state court cases are resolved through this process (Divers, 2011, p. 3). It is an effective system when dealing with overcrowded courts, and the lengthy expensive processes. Besides, prosecutorial discretion usually finds a way to avoid dramatic injustices. I have come to United States to pursue my masters in Management of Technology from this renowned University of Fairfield, Fairfield Connecticut State, USA (University 2016). The joining of my masters course was from first week of September and for knowing the place well and aware of the system I reached United States on 20th August 2015. I reached New York Airport and it was huge, the moment I stepped in the New York City it gave me a pleasant and positive energy all around. I received big smile and a heartwarming welcome at the venue. This made me feel positive as a good start for my new life professionally in a new country. The people in USA are very friendly and helpful. The first few weak I went around the city to visit the local areas. Finally after two weeks I settled at the room of my hostel with all the needful things. The orientation day arrived and I was dressed up at my best formal look. The day was big, fun filled and tiring too but the biggest achievement was finally my masters course in Management of Technology at Fairfield University will start. I made also made few friends on the orientation day. I attended my first class in the University of Fairfield of Leadership in Technical Enterprise, which was the introductory session for the course subject and the professor was very friendly and good. The other classes were very interactive and professional and few were boring as the day was big and I couldnt wait to explore the university areas. At the university we have play area, recreational areas, tournament ground, various extracurricular clubs and organizations. After two months in USA, I ha ve made friends travelled new places and professional learning experience in college. One of the best experiences was Big E concert which I attended with my friends which was most fun filled time (The Big E - 2016). I have also visited Times Square multiple of times with all my friends. I felt amazed to see such large screens and the advertisements that played on the screen. I had visit Six Flags in New Jersey, this trip was the long trip and I planned this trip with my friends through my new car. I really liked the rides and it is the most memorable time and experience for me in USA till date (Six Flags Great Adventure 2016). I have also visited Fairfield museum. I have really liked USA culture and heartwarming people. Fairfield University campus life within 200 acres is the best as all the facilities and opportunities are at the door step (University 2016). The campus provides of the university impacts the learning of each of its students and it provides not just the best infrastructure but the experienced corporate experts who give insight on the real world learning (Ferrara and LaMeau 2012). The university course master in Management of Technology consists of the theoretical sessions as well as the internship sessions which has given the professional and practical learning at the campus and off the campus with training and internship opportunities in various corporate houses (Bui 2012). The career planning at the university is a additional course at the university of the student and mentor program who best guides us and gives the opportunity to explain our future goals and t start working to achieve them. The career planning center in the campus has offered me services to assist in the professio nal front other than the course related issues the personal aim and also the career development in various op companies for the students of Fairfield is the biggest opportunity and facility at the college (Luckham 2012). Along with the professional opportunities, the university provides us with the various campus events and programs to showcase our managing skills and organize various career fairs.
